A World Based On Color

Earlier this week I was having the color conversation with a friend, she was trying to explain how she does not see color , that races are all the same to her and being my regular self I jumped into my Afro-centric mode and I started explain how it is impossible to avoid colors , how color is the core factor in God's social experiment, how the idea of reality itself is based on color down to the last atom. Even has children there were basic lessons that was taught to us indirectly in form of colors good and evil, right from wrong, Jesus and the devil even though the bible described him as the morning star, love and hate, joy and sorrow all were described with two neutral colors and of course will always have the grey area i guess that only occurs when you feel human through out your life and have never been considered good and bad or property and property- owner.

Growing up in Nigeria we had this children Christian book , a pictorial bible story with a yellow cover, most Nigerians born in the 9os might remember the book , of course then the book did not seem prejudicial in nature. A prejudice book with colorful representations of stories of the Holy Book with a white Jesus and a very dark devil. The idea of what this colors represents was plugged in so early that it seems natural yet it varies in every culture which just complicates things.

Raising a white flag in the time of war symbolizes peace , black represents the opposite and i admit that this varies depending on the war and the time in history it also varies geographically. Black , i would assume is the first color to be used by man paintings found in those extremely old caves are mostly in black color this does not decertify the negative representation of the black color overtime. Human history is filled with social conceptions projecting black as an abrogating factor i.e. black represents sorrow, pain, cruelty, brutality, atrocity and evil the most popular example. Whereas, White has always been a positive color good, angels, peace, righteousness it is basically contradicted by black , these colors basically just represents the opposite of each other through out human history.

Religion, the social factor that messed generations up, we are all derivative of our border-line religion even if you are not religious you are not bigger than your society. Religion has been around since there has been an human community even if it is a community of two people, we have always bowed to something presumed to be divine and pray to or through other things considered divine as well. Since there has been a religion the sociological attributes of the color black and white has been designated heaven and hell is a factor in every religion Janaah or Jahannam , Valhalla or Niflheim , Olympus or Hedes and they have all been represented with white and black respectively at one point or the other in history. For centuries the message of every religion has always been good against evil, light against darkness, white against black and I am sure we can all guess what our society today is based on an extract of every religion again varying across the world.

Slavery, Racism, Segregation we definitely cannot talk about t black and white without talking about slavery, racism, and segregation. This is a sensitive illustration of the effect of the existence of these two colors, the white property owner and the black property, then came segregation and racism that obviously isn't going away. I for one wish our existence isn't based on color, that our reality is just one very long grey area but that won't make the world perfect and it is honestly unrealistic. The imperfection is the world makes the world perfect, the colors keep the balance. The Chinese believe in the Ying and Yang the forces the represents balance spiritual and physical balance stretching into the universe itself. Think of it this way, no slavery means no Robert smalls, no Sojourner Truth no Abraham Lincoln, no segregation means no Malcolm X no Martin Luther King even Obama would not have been so famous. And I very much like to think that the existence of the white color has helped to end wars in the past and religion might not be so effective without the idea of the color white I.e. my point is this two colors though neutral is very complex, gravely structuring our perspective throughout time, we cannot run from them or pretend they down exist that would be disregarding reality.

It's quite intriguing to come to think of it and it makes me curious if there is a creator what exactly is his or her plan, why two colors, why these particular colors, why don't we have blue humans that would be fabulous, why is human socialization based on these colors, is it some form of a grand experiment, to what end though will leave you to decide that on your own, remember guys "Be curious".
